KENNEWICK -- Kyle Sani hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie, lifting the Kennewick Bandits to a 3-2 victory over the Pasco Sun Devils to sweep their Central Washington League AAA Legion doubleheader Wednesday at Southridge High.
Joe Driver also homered for the Bandits and picked up the save as Kennewick won all four games from the Sun Devils over a two-day stretch.
In the opener, Thomas Henderson and Landon Scott drove in three runs apiece to back Jacob Nelson's six-hitter as the Bandits won 12-2.

EVERETT -- The Tri-City Dust Devils had an offensive explosion Wednesday in Everett.
Led by Jared Simon, the Dust Devils won 18-7. They banged out 19 hits and hit four home runs -- including two by Simon.
The right-fielder hit a solo shot in the fourth, a three-run homer in the fifth, an RBI double in the sixth and an RBI single in the seventh. He finished 5-for-6 with six RBIs, while doubling his home run total for the season.

Green Power pays $217,000 to keep port lease
PASCO -- Port of Pasco commissioners gave a controversial biofuels company another chance to pay the $217,000 required to continue leasing land from the port.
By Thursday afternoon, Green Power CEO Michael Spitzauer showed up with the full amount in cashier's checks.
Previously, the port had decided to extend Green Power's lease another six months starting Sept. 1 but only if the full rent and an increased deposit were received by Aug. 31.

Central Valley, a Spokane-area school, jumped out to a 21-13 lead after the first quarter to remain undefeated on the season at 3-0.
