Bomb threat suspect faces July 22 trial

By Kristin M. Kraemer, Herald staff writer

A 52-year-old man pleaded innocent Tuesday to charges of taking a bomb to a Pasco home and threatening to kill the occupants.

Henry Dewayne Mitchell faces trial July 22 on one count of felony harassment.

Court documents show Mitchell went to the home about 1:30 p.m. May 21, where he set down the bomb and said if anyone touched it they would blow up. At least seven people were in the house.

The Richland Police Bomb Squad responded and determined the device consisted of suspected fertilizers placed inside a fuel oil canister with a container of an unknown liquid, documents said.

Rifle bullets, nails and tacks were reportedly attached to the exterior of the canister.

Mitchell, who was previously said to live in Burbank, listed a Kennewick residence on court documents Tuesday. His bail is set at $75,000.
