BURBANK -- Columbia (Burbank) has hired Rich Harris as its new football coach, replacing Lance Beeson, who went 3-7 in his only season and led the Coyotes to the regional playoffs.
Harris, a 1991 Prosser graduate who ranks sixth on the all-time Mustangs career list in passing yards (2,949) and completions (192), was the quarterbacks coach at Prosser last season.

BURBANK -- Before the season started, Columbia-Burbank's football team knew it would have a brutal three-game stretch in Weeks 3-5.
The Coyotes got through it about as well as could be expected, finishing 1-2 against SCAC East powers Royal, River View and Connell.
Now, Burbank must bounce back from a 55-7 loss to Connell against Kiona-Benton in a game that would go a long way toward wrapping up a playoff berth for C-B.

The Columbia-Burbank boys basketball team was stellar from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter Tuesday, knocking off River View 45-37 in Connell.
The victory gives the Coyotes (9-12 overall) the SCAC East's No. 4 seed to the Class 1A District 5 Tournament. Columbia-Burbank plays at Zillah at
7 p.m. Thursday in a first round game.
The loss ended River View's season.
