A Benton County woman whose body was found in the Columbia River drowned, County Coroner Rick Corson said Tuesday.
The tentative cause of death of Julianne Elizabeth Keel, 25, is freshwater or cold-water drowning, Corson said. A final determination will be made after results are back from tissue analysis and toxicology tests, he said, which could take 8 to 12 weeks.
An autopsy completed Tuesday afternoon also showed Keel was 51/2 months pregnant with a girl, Corson said.
Keel had been missing since early May and presumed drowned after she and her boyfriend, Bradley Jason Novak Jr. set out on a canoe trip from Hover Park in east Kennewick.
The couple were reported missing May 6.
Keel's body was recovered on the Washington side of the Columbia River across from Hat Rock Park in Oregon. Corson said she had been in the water for at least seven to 10 days.
Novak, 27, was found in the river near Wallula on May 16. The Walla Walla County coroner said Novak drowned and estimated his date of death as May 2.

Franklin County secures money for rescue robot
It could be safer in the water around the Tri-Cities this summer, thanks to a specially designed underwater robot that has the potential to save lives.
For two years, Franklin County sheriff's Deputy Terry Brown has been trying to raise enough funds to get a search-and-rescue robot, called SARbot, to help with water rescues. The SARbot is run by remote control, and can be set up and put in the water quickly to try to help rescue a drowning victim.
On Friday, Brown announced that $83,000 in donations have been secured, allowing the sheriff's office to buy the SARbot. Four deputies will begin training on it Monday.

Officials put down moose stranded north of Pasco (w/ gallery, video)
As a young bull moose stood in about four feet of water Monday afternoon, officials trained in various types of rescue operations did their best to figure out a way to save its life.
But the moment the moose jumped the barbed-wire fence and slid down the steep, concrete sides of the Esquatzel Diversion Channel six miles north of Pasco, its fate was sealed.
At sunset, state Fish and Wildlife Officer Brian Fulton killed the moose with a single shotgun blast using a slug that produced instant death.
