Berger, Hermiston girls win state tennis titles

TUALATIN — Led by senior Richole Berger, the Hermiston girls tennis team won its third straight team title at the Oregon 5A championships at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.

Berger, who has three state doubles titles, won the singles crown Saturday with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Katie Edwards of Century.

Berger, headed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the fall, finished her high school career with a 114-2 record, including 27-0 this year.

The Bulldogs finished with 12 points in the team race, followed by Corvallis (9) and Bend (8).
