RICHLAND -- Brennan Borlaug drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning for Southridge, and Tyler Roberts slammed the door on Kennewick in the seventh as the Suns won a CBBN Columbia tiebreaker 2-1 at Bomber Field to earn the No. 1 district seed.
Southridge avenged a pair of losses to Kennewick during division play and earned a bye into the double-elimination portion of the 4A district tournament.
The Suns also will host one of two sections of Friday's bracket play.
Kennewick avoided a first-round game Tuesday but did not escape the loser-out portion of the tournament. The Lions, who won the 3A state title a year ago, play the Davis-Eastmont winner Friday in Richland.
Jay Fox struck out seven and walked two over six innings for the Suns. Drew Loftus went 2-for-3 to highlight the Lions' attack.

YAKIMA -- Travis Chalk's two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth woke up listless Hanford, and the Falcons went on to a 19-2 win over Sunnyside in a CBBN 3A loser-out game.
The Falcons ended up as the No. 2 regional seed, falling to host West Valley 12-7 in the title game. Hanford hosts East Valley on Tuesday in a first-round, loser-out Eastern Regional game.
"We didn't have it going, but Travis' homer got us fired up and we poured it on after that," said Hanford coach Tom DeWitz, whose team led winless Sunnyside only 3-2 at that point.
