Richland senior Chris Shallman has turned in a solid performance at No. 3 boys singles spot for the Bombers this season. He's also stepped up when needed to turn in wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles.
And his consistency has paid off as coach Felix Quinn is confident that Shallman will make a sound No. 1 doubles partner for senior Taylor Dickey in the postseason.
"This is their choice and they've earned it," Quinn said.
"We're going to be partnered up for districts, regionals and state," said Shallman, who with Elliot Martin last spring teamed up to win the 4A Eastern Regional title.
"I think it will be just as good -- or better -- experience than last year."
Shallman, 19, signed with Lewis-Clark State College earlier this year and has met with LCSC coach Kai Fong and practiced with the Warriors several times.
"They've been top 20 nationally for a number of years now," Shallman said.
