WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla Community College's spring production, Suds in Your Eye, takes a comic spin when San Diego junkyard owner Mrs. Feeley turns her establishment into a haven for those down on their luck during World War II.
And just to add a touch of spice to the plot, Mrs. Feeley tries to play Cupid and match her philandering nephew with the town's spunky Spanish teacher.
And if that isn't enough action for you, there's an assortment of eccentric characters to make your head spin.
Two of those characters include Mrs. Feeley's new roommates, the elderly spinster Miss Tinkham and Mrs. Rasmussen, who's running away from her oppressive daughter.
Of course, dear old Mrs. Feeley shouldn't be getting involved with all these characters because she's already in trouble with the tax man. But that trouble leads to jail time when she smacks the county assessor who tries to raise her taxes.
Showtime is 7 p.m. May 7-9, 14-16 with a 2 p.m. matinee on May 17 in the China Pavilion on the community college campus, 500 Tausick Way in Walla Walla.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors. The play is not recommended for small children. Tickets at the door.
