Burbank boys fall in consolation semi

YAKIMA -- Winlock's towering trio of Jake Brown (6-9), Nathan Booth (6-5) and Jordan Davis (6-6) combined for 42 points to lead the Cardinals (23-3) over Columbia Burbank 48-38 to advance to today's fifth-eighth place game against Naches Valley.

Nick Byrd hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter to give Burbank (13-13) a 12-10 lead in the opening frame. Byrd finished with 20 points to lead all scorers.

But Davis, who led the Cardinals with 15 points, scored six points during a 13-2 third-quarter run as Winlock took a 35-23 lead.

Brown finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals, who shot 18-of-45 (40 percent). The Coyotes shot 13-for-37 (35 percent).
