Eastern Washington University senior Kersee Lind was named the men's field athletes of the week by the Big Sky Conference for his performance at the fourth-annual Candy Cane Invitational in Cheney last week.
Lind, from Hermiston, broke his own school record in the heptathlon with a score of 5,132 points. His previous record was 5,033, set back in 2010.

MOSCOW, Idaho -- Idaho sophomore outside hitter Allison Walker was named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball player of the week for the week of Oct. 24-30.
This is the second WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and third of her career for Walker.
The Othello native averaged 5.29 kills on .278 hitting to go with 1.29 digs, 0.43 blocks and 5.50 points per set as the Vandals defeated Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State last week and moved within a half-game of second place in the WAC standings.

* 1986 -- Kamiakin linebacker Bill Cobb led a defensive unit that held Richland to just 85 yards and two first downs as the Braves recorded a convincing 26-7 Big Nine victory over the Bombers at Kennewick High School Stadium.
Richland scored the first points of the night, as Jason Martinez passed to tight end Brian Zinsli for a 7-0 second-quarter lead. But Kamiakin scored the next 26 points, including a pair of rushing TDs by Simon Robinson.

MOSCOW, Idaho -- For the second time in her career and the first time this season, Idaho sophomore outside hitter Allison Walker has earned Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honors.
Walker, an Othello High School graduate, helped the Vandals to back-to-back three-set wins over Eastern Washington and Utah State during the week, as she averaged 6.67 kills, 4.83 digs and 6.92 points per set while hitting .202.
Walker extended her double-double streak to six matches as she finished with a season-high 24 kills and a career-best 17 digs at Eastern Washington and had 16 kills and 12 digs against defending WAC tournament champion Utah State.
