CBBN boys: Wa-Hi clinches No. 2 seed (w/ brackets)

WALLA WALLA -- Michael Weisner scored 18 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished off seven assists as Walla Walla defeated visiting West Valley 63-55 in a key CBBN Cascade game.

With the win, Walla Walla clinched the Cascade's No. 2 seed into districts and dropped Richland to the No. 3 seed.

Wa-Hi plays host to Davis on Saturday, while the Bombers go to Pasco.

KENNEWICK -- Osvaldo Uvay scored 16 points and Kennewick erased a 19-16 halftime deficit to get its first victory of the season in its finale, beating crosstown rival Southridge on the road.

The Lions outscored the Suns 22-8 in the third quarter to take control as first-year coach Braydn Leyde's team avoided a winless campaign.

Andrew Mendenhall led the Suns with 18 points.

KENNEWICK -- Jeremy Rojas scored 14 points, but Kamiakin -- locked into the Cascade's No. 4 district seed -- fell at home to Eastmont.

"We were just flat tonight. They beat us to every loose ball," said Braves coach Brian Meneely, whose team plays at Wenatchee on Saturday.
