A Benton City man whose hunting license was revoked had his pickup, boat and shotgun seized by authorities after he was cited last month for a series of alleged wildlife violations.
Sean Dolan McCullough, 23, faces arraignment in Walla Walla County on Feb. 17 on seven wildlife-related misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor charges, according to court records.
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officers cited McCullough on Jan. 10 after observing and videotaping him illegally hunting waterfowl in Burbank below the Snake River bridge, said Sgt. Jim Nelson, a wildlife enforcement officer based in Pasco.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife law enforcement officers also were involved in the investigation.
McCullough already was under a two-year license revocation because of earlier wildlife violations, Nelson said.
He and a hunting partner killed 16 ducks between them, exceeding the daily bag limit, Nelson said. They also allegedly were hunting in front of large grain elevators, a baiting violation, authorities said.
McCullough also purportedly was hunting with lead shot and an unplugged shotgun, also violations.
Among the charges he faces are second-degree hunting or fishing while license revoked; second-degree unlawful hunting of wild birds; unlawful hunting of wild birds/possession of ducks over the limit; second-degree hunting with an unplugged shotgun, unlawful use/purchase of a license; and driving with a suspended license, according to court records.
The name of McCullough's hunting partner was not released, but he was cited for allegedly exceeding the daily bag limit and possession of lead shot, Nelson said.
Because of his earlier wildlife violations, officers seized McCullough's 2006 Dodge pickup, his shotgun, a 17-foot boat he was using and decoys, Nelson said.
