PENDLETON -- A Milton-Freewater man will spend more than 16 years in prison without the possibility of early release for raping and sodomizing a child.
Nickolas Elbert Addington, 35, pleaded guilty Thursday in Umatilla County Circuit Court to one count each of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy, said District Attorney Dean Gushwa.
Addington was arrested by Milton-Freewater police in January after the child disclosed the sexual abuse to a school counselor.
Investigators with Milton-Freewater police and the Oregon State Police found the abuse started in late 2006 and continued through December 2008, Gushwa said.
The child was 12 when the abuse began.
Addington was sentenced to 16 years and eight months in prison without the possibility of release, Gushwa said.
