Pasco's Lonnie Hurley won a close decision (5-1) over Southridge's Connor Rosane at 170 pounds in a battle of state veterans Thursday to help the Bulldogs to a 40-22 wrestling dual victory.
Pasco won every match from 106 (a pin by Bobby Guzman) to 170, before Southridge carried the last four weights, including pins by Bryce Overholt at 182 and Randy Harris at 195.

KENNEWICK The Southridge wrestling team got some quality wins Thursday night but came up short against the juggernaut known as Sunnyside, losing at home 46-28.
"We thought we had a shot to make it real close and won a couple we didn't think we would and lost a couple we thought we would," Southridge coach Dave Brown said.
Among the Suns' highlights was freshman Trenton Nett's pin of Homer Romero at 113 pounds. Nett finished off Romero in 5:40.

A trio of Mid-Columbia wrestlers won titles Saturday at the Pacific Northwest Classic at University High in Spokane, including two from the Tri-Cities.
Chiawana's Chris Monte-longo claimed the 106-pound crown wiht a 12-2 win over Aaron Klauder of Deer Park, concluding a strong weekend at the weight for the first time this season. Montelongo, a junior, placed sixth at 4A state last year at 103 and figures to be on a short list of favorites for the 106 title this season.
Richland senior Josh Andrew took the title at 120 with an 8-4 win over University's Keaton Vallance in the final. Andrew scored a 6-1 win in the semifinals over Chiawana's P.J. Murillo, who went on to place third.
