Back to the Action

One year-end recap is definitely not enough for someone as self-absorbed as I am, so here are my off-field favorites from football season.

I enjoyed shooting around the edges of football games much more than the action. This sentiment only increased as I reached the double digits on the number of football games I had shot and produced photo galleries.

Action is fun to shoot, but I get tired of it and find the crowd to be more entertaining — especially since so many of the games I covered were boring blowouts.

Here are my top 15 from fall 2008 of the crowds, bands and pageantry that make a high school football matchup an event instead of just a game:

Mimicking the drum majors during the marching band’s performance.
