State track coaches to honor Hanford's Lewis

By Howie Stalwick, Special to the Herald

Clay Lewis, the former boys and girls coach at Hanford, will be inducted into the Washington State Track and Field Coaches Hall of Fame on Saturday in Everett.

Lewis retired as head coach in January 2006 after suffering a heart attack, but he has continued to help the Falcons jumpers and also is active in helping run local meets.

Lewis and longtime Lynnwood boys and girls coach Duane Lewis (no relation) will be inducted during a noon luncheon at the Holiday Inn.

The Hall of Fame ceremony is held in conjunction with the state convention and clinic for college, high school and middle school track and field coaches. Pre-registration discounts are available.
