GRANDVIEW -- Doubling up in a pair of finals and having three more wrestlers vying for championships helped Hanford finish a close second to Washougal on Saturday at the Grandview Winter Classic.
Mike Ruane took a default win over teammate Joe Traverso at 152 for the Falcons, as did RJ Harris against Matt Latka at 285.
River View's Chance Watt was named the tourney's outstanding wrestler, pinning his way to the 130-pound title match and then winning 9-5 over Washougal's Colton King. Chris Strawn at 160 also won a title for the Panthers.
Prosser's Irving and Osmar Jaimez won titles at 112 and 119, respectively, while Grandview's Santos Guillen dominated his 103 title bout, winning by technical fall.

Othello took third in the team standings, with Jake Smith winning the 119 title with a second-period pin. Trevor Morrison (125) and Zac Reisenauer (145) won titles for Columbia (Burbank).

Carey Larson Memorial
SANDY, Ore. -- Kamiakin finished fourth out of eight teams, taking home two individual championships at the Carey Larson Memorial tournament.
Sedale Garcia (15-2) scored a 9-0 major decision over Pato Rellegert of Forest Grove (Ore.) in the 119-pound title match, and Pedro Mendoza (15-1) decisioned Travis Addy of Prairie 14-1 for the championship at 145.
Other Braves placers included Derrick Cooley (second, 125), Corey McClain (fourth, 112), Tyler Maus (fourth, 125) and Kevin Gurganus (fourth, 215).
Naches Invite
NACHES -- Connell's Hernan Serra defeated teammate Freddy Herrera in the 103 final, and Nato Orozco won at 215 to lead the Eagles to a fourth-place finish at the Naches Invitational.
Brian Heinen (160) and Garrett Whitney (171) lost in their finals, while Harris Garcia (third, 135) and Gerardo Barragan (fourth, 285) also placed.
Oregon Wrestling Classic
REDMOND, Ore. -- Hermiston won its second straight 5A team title at the Oregon Wrestling Classic, beating Thurston 46-36 in the championship dual. The Bulldogs went 6-0 at the tournament.
