ROYAL CITY -- Robert Pruneda won the title at 135 and three more Warden wrestlers reached the finals to lead the Cougars to the team title at the Royal Christmas Tournament.
Kamiakin's Pedro Mendoza won the 145 class, with Alexx Arent finishing second at 189.
Danny Barajas at 112 provided host Royal with its only championship, while Connell's Nato Orozco won the 215 crown.

MATTAWA -- Warden and Othello were the big winners at the Eastern Washington girls regional wrestling tournament Saturday at Wahluke High in Mattawa.
Warden advanced eight wrestlers to state and had four champions; Othello won three individual titles and has six moving on to Mat Classic XXIV on Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.
The top three at each weight qualified for state. Team scores were not available, and tournament results were not posted until Saturday.

Kale Setzer (138 pounds), Cruz Del Angel (170) and Cody Zyph (220) won titles for Kiona-Benton, and the Bears cruised to a repeat first-place finish as SCAC East sub-district champions Saturday at Connell.
Royal (5) and Connell (4) each had more indivdiual titles than Ki-Be, but the Bears had six more runner-up finishes to pile up 2451/2 points for a winning margin of 76.
The top four in each weight advance to the next Saturday's regional with the SCAC West at Zillah. The Bears will send along 14 wrestlers, while Royal and Connell have nine each.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Hermiston's Joey Delgado and Tyler Berger repeated as champions Saturday at Tri-State in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, perhaps the toughest high school tournament in the Northwest.
Delgado, a three-time state champ, won his second Tri-State title with an 11-4 victory over Orting's Shannon Maris in a battle of the top-ranked 138-pounders in Washington and Oregon.
Berger, just a sophomore, won the crown at 132 with a 7-6 victory over Tahoma's Joey Palmer in another battle of top-ranked guys.
