It's slippery — use your head

Good news for body shop operators and anyone who makes a buck from trips to the emergency room — more snow is expected.

Even better news — you can count on some people failing to take seriously the dangers inherent whenever you mix icy surfaces with machines weighing thousands of pounds.

Two bits of news this week prove the point. One story is a simple tale of excess speed on the highway resulting in a trip to the hospital.

The second story is how failure to exercise common sense leads to the same destination.

Let’s make this a less prosperous season for the ding and dent fixers, and increase your chances of spending the holidays at home instead of a convalescent home.

Slow down, be careful. Please.
