Two Tri-City boys swimmers were named consensus High School All-Americans prior to their senior seasons.
Hanford's Joe Wertz earned All-America honors in the 100-yard backstroke and 200 individual medley, while Richland's Cody Roberts was honored in the 100 butterfly and 100 back.
Roberts recently signed a letter of intent with the University of Washington.

The reception also will honor REI grant recipients Friends of Badger Mountain, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the Tri-Cities' scenic ridgeline, and Tapteal Greenway Association, known for activities to preserve the lower Yakima River and its watershed.
In the past five years, REI has provided more than $100,000 in grants to Tri-City organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship. The store is at 129 N. Ely St.

Two Tri-Citians were named first-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's volleyball all-stars last week.
Lindsey Wodrich and Shelby Swanson, who both play for Seattle Pacific University, were both honored this week.
Wodrich, a senior from Richland High, was a unanimous and repeat selection at outside hitter. She led 21-7 SPU with 394 kills and had 288 digs.
