KENNEWICK -- Here is the runner-by-runner look at the Tri-City Herald's 2008 All-Area boys cross country squad:
Runner of the Year -- Andrew Gonzales, Sr., Southridge: He won the Sunfair Invite, CBBN and 4A regional titles, and was fourth at the state meet and Sunday's Border Clash.
Anthony Armstrong, Fr., Kamiakin: He finished fifth at the CBBN district meet, 14th at regionals and capped his first season with a 30th-place finish at 4A state.
Evan Fiske, Jr., Kamiakin: He finished fourth at the CBBN district meet, eighth at regionals and just missed a podium finish at 4A state, placing 16th by 3 seconds.
Jose Marcial, Sr., Kiona-Benton: He posted a fifth-place finish at the Hermiston Invite, second at the Connell Invite, won the SCAC district title and was ninth at 1A state.
Aaron Nelson, Soph., Walla Walla: He finished fourth at the Edmonds Invite, 12th at Sunfair, third at the CBBN district meet and was Wa-Hi's top runner at regionals (32nd).
Jordan Ringe, Sr., Hermiston: He won four races, including the Bob Firman Invite and the Intermountain district title, and was second at the Oregon 5A state meet.
Ethan Tonnemaker, Soph., Royal: He won the Bulldog Invite in Pasco, was fourth at the Mid-Basin and Connell invites, third at SCAC districts and 12th at 1A state.
