O'Flaherty of Walla Walla claimed off waivers by Braves

From Herald news services November 21, 2008

The Seattle Mariners on Thursday announced seven transactions affecting their 40-man roster, and the club also named Paul Gibson its Eastern cross-checker scout.

Right-handers Stephen Kahn, Gabby Hernandez and Marwin Vega, as well as outfielder Greg Halman, were added to the 40-man roster.

Righties Luis Munoz and Tracy Thorpe cleared waivers and have been outrighted to the minors, and lefty Eric O'Flaherty (Walla Walla) has been claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves.

O'Flaherty, 23, saw limited action in 2008 while dealing with a back injury. He made the Opening Day roster but was optioned to the minors after going 0-1 with a 20.25 ERA in 62/3 innings.
