Replacement ballots available in counties

By the Herald staff

KENNEWICK -- Benton and Franklin county auditors have asked that anyone who needs a replacement ballot for Tuesday's election to contact them as soon as possible.

Replacement ballots are available for people who lose theirs or haven't received one at all.

"We anticipate being busy on Tuesday with replacement ballots," Benton County Auditor Bobbie Gagner said in an e-mail to the Herald.

"Voters waiting until Tuesday should anticipate up to an hour's wait for service. We only have one election computer in each of the Kennewick and Richland offices," she said.

Franklin County Auditor Zona Lenhart said anyone who needs a replacement ballot should ask for one in person.

"We don't want them calling and asking us to mail a ballot because it's too iffy," Lenhart said. This close to the election, she couldn't be sure any replacement ballots mailed to voters would get to them in time, she said.
