  The Prosser Mustangs placed six offensive starters on the All-CWAC first team and Othello senior running back Caleb Garza was named the offensive MVP in a vote of coaches.

  Here are the 2011 CWAC girls volleyball standings as of Sunday, Oct. 23:

  The new rest stops at Vernita Bridge and Interstate 82 by Selah are beautiful. They also took a very long time to construct and are much nicer and spacious than necessary for their intended purpose. Grand Coulee Dam would likely still be under construction if it was built by current standards. Consider this the next time you hear politicians refer to cuts in education unless something is done to "fix" the budget.

  Othello, Ellensburg vie for No. 2 seed

  Prosser sewed up the No. 1 seed and a bye into the state playoffs.

  The CWAC No. 2 seed also gets a bye into the state playoffs, but that team is up in the air between Othello and Ellensburg.

  Those two teams meet Thursday, Nov. 3, in Othello.
