Kennewick woman jailed for taking car without paying

By the Herald staff

A Kennewick woman is behind bars after she was allowed to leave a car dealership with an SUV but never returned to pay for it.

DeeAnn Goodrich, 20, went to Warner Auto Sales in Kennewick to buy a car on Sept. 29 and employees let her take the 2000 white Ford Excursion home after a test drive, Kennewick police said.

Goodrich left her own car there and was supposed to return the next day to put down a deposit and finance the rest of the vehicle, but she never did.

Employees at the used car dealership called police and reported the SUV stolen.

After officers left some messages for Goodrich about the incident, she turned herself in to police Wednesday, police said.

Goodrich was arrested and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree theft.
