The Yakima Herald-Republic is reporting the House Democratic Campaign Committee has dropped $30,000 in the race for an open House seat in Yakimas 14th Legislative District. Thats helped Democrat Vickie Ybarra extend her fundraising lead over Republican Norm Johnson by a near three-to-one margin. Its far wider when you consider cash on hand.
This is a tough district for Democrats to be sure. But with such a sizable fundraising advantage over House Republicans, its the kind of race they can afford to throw money into and see where it gets them.
