A few odds and ends for you here...
Rich Roesler reported yesterday in the Spokesman-Review that the two dozen legislators who are running unopposed this year have raised more than $1.8 million for their campaigns. Some of that cash will end up being routed to their caucus campaign committee so it can be spent in competitive districts.
Secretary of State Sam Reed was ridiculed in some sectors for predicting a 46 percent turnout in the August primary. And while its true turnout never met his expectation late arriving ballots pushed it to 42.6 percent. Coulda been worse.
Turnout was highest in Columbia County, where 66.6 percent of registered voters cast ballots. Turnout was lowest in King County, where just 34.9 percent turned out. That might help explain a few things.
Proving once again its never too late to kick off a campaign thats been running for seemingly forever, Gov. Chris Gregoires camp sent out a fundraising appeal this week asking supporters to help us kickoff our General Election campaign!
And here I thought we were somewhere in the third quarter.
