Last week I put up a post that many of you read reporting on the University of Washington having hired a consultant to crunch numbers and draft the schools Husky Stadium renovation legislation.
You may recall that there was some discussion as to whether that consultant qualifies as a lobbyist, especially since his work is part of the schools larger lobbying effort.
The University of Washington argues Robert Longman is not a lobbyist and that while his contract states he may meet with policy makers it would be someone elses job to do the arm twisting.
And the Public Disclosure Commission has agreed. I got this note from agency spokeswoman Lori Anderson yesterday afternoon.
We contacted him and learned that he is drafting the legislative proposal for a new Husky stadium and that his contract precludes him from lobbying. He does not need to register or report.
So congratulations Bob Longman. Youre not a lobbyist.

Washington broke ground Monday on its $250 million renovation of Husky Stadium, an 18-month project that will kick the Huskies out of the 91-year-old building until September 2013.

STANFORD, Calif. -- It wasn't a repeat of last year's drubbing -- in most ways, it was worse.
After an "embarrassing" shutout loss to Stanford last year at Husky Stadium, the older, wiser and tougher Washington Huskies were supposed to find some redemption Saturday against the No. 7 Cardinal at Stanford Stadium.
Instead, they found more of the same in a 65-21 pounding by a bigger, stronger and better Stanford team.
