Was John McCain a Hanoi Hilton songbird who collaborated with the enemy?
Is Barack Obama the antichrist?
Those are about the worst charges against either candidate I could find on the St. Petersburg Times truth-o-meter.
Clearly, Obama is getting the best lies.
If you have taste for the absurd, truth-o-meters a great place to explore. The site investigates political attacks against the presumptive nominees for the Democratic and Republican parties, and measures the veracity of their campaign statements, as well.
But fair warning: If you believe that e-mail Aunt Mildred forwarded the one that says Obama thinks the national anthem should be Id Like to Teach the World to Sing prepare to be challenged.
The site is useful even if youre not naive enough to swallow every anonymous rumor that happens to validate your pre-existing opinions about the candidates.
In fact, some of the stuff going around about the McCain and Obama is true.
If you care about the difference, the truth-o-meter is worth a visit.

Shame on the Tri-City Herald for perpetuating the ignorance and myth behind a global flood. Nothing could be further from the truth. Geologists for years have recognized the giant cross-bedded Navajo sandstone as deposited by wind, not by flood. Flood deposits have distinctive characteristics all their own and they are nothing like what is in Paria Canyon. Congratulations, you've been duped into publishing an article about Greg Morgan's ridiculous and scientifically unfounded creationist drivel. We deserve better.

On Oct. 16, the Tri-City Forum featured several columns by local tea party leaders. I thought that these were well written, truthful and accurately reflected the concerns of the tea party, which should be all our concerns. These men and women are to be commended for their dedication to a worthwhile effort in working to control an out-of-control federal government.
What a difference a week makes! On Oct. 23, the Herald published an In Focus column by Mark Mansperger, which subjected us to his usual mindless politico-babble. It's a mystery to me on why you keep allowing this demonic diatribe to blemish your fine newspaper. It would be impossible to address all his goofs, gaffes and gaps within my word count, so I'll just mention one as an example. He praises the federal government's largess in funneling all that money to the Tri-Cities and can't understand why anyone would object. Duh! Where does he think that money is coming from? Obama's stash? Actually 44 cents out of every dollar is either borrowed or printed
