50-word statement:
I have spent the last 22 years helping individuals and small business owners with employee benefit needs. The last four years we have been over charged $1.0 Billion by the three major not for profit health insurers. That money belongs to the policy holders. These companies are sending premium dollars to their for profit subsidaries, this must stop. I am the person to make this happen.
Three priorities:
1. Refund $1.4 Billion of not for profit health insurance companies excess surplus back to the policyholders.
2. Introduce legislation that would make it illegal to use credit scoring in underwriting of insurance.
3. Repeal the sales tax we pay on health insurance. Yes, we pay 2% tax on individual and small group insurance.

I am thankful for great health care providers and accept appropriate increases in health care overheads. However, I cannot accept the suggestion that this is why the cost of medical insurance moves further and further out of reach for more and more Americans.
Insurance premiums take a jump and so does the company CEO's salary since compensation is based on the company's earnings. United Health Group, the top health insurance company's CEO, tops the pay scale in America at over $94 million in total compensation in 2010. His compensation in 2008 was a little over $13 million.
