David Bryant grabbed lane 1 as he and the U-10 led the field to a wire-to-wire victory in heat 2C of Columbia Cup action.
Bryant opened up a lead of at least six roostertails and led the parade through three laps.
Bryant was nearing the checkered flag in the U-10 Miss Ahern Rentals when David Williams lost control of the U-48 Lakeridge Paving in the apex of turns 3-4. He was reported to have flipped the boat, but from my position it appeared as though he only hooked it severely.
The boat was right side up at the end of the heat, but I havenÂ’t gotten any word on WilliamsÂ’ condition. I will work on that, along with trying to sort out exactly what happened.
Greg Hopp finished second in the U-100 MirageBoats.com, while Kip Brown did not make the start in the U-17 Our Gang Racing.
Unlimited Lights racing is coming up.
