For too many years the two party system in the state has corrupted the ideals of our democracy with conflicted party and special interest loyalties. The candidates have lost sight of the voters that elect them and empower them to lead on behalf of the people.

BENTON CITY -- Bella, a Benton City Italian bistro and wine bar, will be closing on Sept. 30.
"It was a tough decision to make. We've really struggled with it," said co-owner Tracy Tudor of Grandview. Valerie Brown of Benton City also owns the restaurant.
"Our restaurant is so small we could only afford to pay one employee so it meant we were here all the time. It's just too much for us at our age. We both want to retire and start to travel," she said.

My girlfriend and I recently got engaged, and our parents are contributing financially to the wedding. We've noticed that both sets of parents are pressing their ideas of what they'd like the wedding to be like, who to invite and who to include in the wedding party. I know in the end it's our call, but traditionally do parents have some kind of say if they contribute money to help pay for the wedding?
