Glenn Freeman

Candidate for: State Auditor
Incumbent? No
Age: 40
Hometown: Kent, Washington
Occupation: Quality Specialist
50-word statement: With the incumbent in office since 1993, it's time for a fresh set of eyes to examine how government fulfills its duties to the public. I would enhance the performance audit process and work to make the office non-partisan. I bring an ability to be a truly independent Auditor.
Three priorities: 1. Enhance performance audits by adding failure markers to force action not just recommendations.
2. Work to make the State Auditors position non-partisan.
3. Work on term limits for State Auditor position so the tax payers are assured fresh eyes on the government.

Richland levy: No
Richland levy: No
According to the flier that the Richland School District published for the upcoming levy, it is offering a quid pro quo to all seniors and the disabled whose annual wages are $35,000 or less for a yes vote. Vote yes and the taxes will be removed.
Whether this ability to remove or reduce the tax burden on people for one reason or another is right is irrelevant because it already has been stated.
School levies should be voted on by people who actually pay for them. The county auditor needs to work with the assessors office and the school district to identify the owners of homes and businesses then send out voting materials to them only.
