Track: Hermiston boys, girls take 2nd at IMC district meet

BEND, Ore. -- Hermiston took second in both the boys and girls team standings at the Intermountain district meet.

Defending 5A state champion Alex Ringe, a WSU-bound senior, won the 800 meters in 1:57.94, while younger brother Jordan qualified in the 1,500.

In the girls meet, Sarah Von Arx jumped 5-4 to win the high jump, while Angelica Rodriguez took second in the 400 to advance to next week's state meet in Eugene.

MONMOUTH -- The Echo boys 4x100 relay team won the 1A state title in a time of 44.59 seconds, and relay anchor Mike Madison finished third in the 100, 200 and 400 to lead the Cougars to a third-place finish in the team standings with 41 points.
