QUINCY -- Othello's Courtney Kirkwood qualified for state in four events, winning the javelin (142-3), the long jump (16-7 1/2) and the 200 (25.99), while just missing a fourth win in the 100 hurdles at the CWAC district meet.
Prosser senior Cade Wandling bounced back after false-starting in the 100 at last week's subdistricts, adding the 4x400 to his repertoire.
He won the 400 and ran on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

SCAC districts
CONNELL -- The host Eagles swept the team titles at the SCAC district championships, led by Spencer Hadley's victories in the shot and javelin in the boys meet and Jessica Casper winning the girls 300 hurdles and anchoring a pair of state-qualifying relays.
Royal senior Blair Collins won the 100, high jump, long jump and anchored the victorious 4x100 as the Knights finished second in the boys standings.
Kiona-Benton junior Whitney Leavitt lowered her area-best in the 200 to 25.08 seconds -- No. 8 on the all-time area list -- and also won the 100 and anchored the winning 4x200, leading the Bears to a second-place finish.
