Golf roundup: Pasco's Johnson fires 75 to take district title

Kelsey Johnson of Pasco shot a 75 to take medalist honors, Neddy Martinez shot a 78 and the Bulldogs finished with a team score of 346 -- second place -- as Johnson and Martinez qualified for state at the CBL 4A district tournament at Sun Willows on Monday afternoon.

Richland led the way with a combined score of 335 as Mary McDonald (77), Alexa David (81) and Madison Hamm (86) all qualified for state.

The Bombers' Gina Ojeda shot a 91 to earn second alternate.

Michelle Bobbie of Hanford, Kendrick Romine of Kamiakin and Karissa Pizzarella of Southridge were among 12 area golfers who earned state seeding at the CBL 3A tournament at Canyon Lakes Monday afternoon.

The Braves, the Falcons and the Suns had respective fifth, sixth and seventh-place finishes.
