A two-vehicle collision Saturday morning in Grant County killed a man and injured a Grant County sheriff’s deputy, who was hospitalized.
The mysterious Kennewick Man, who died 9,000 years ago in the Columbia River Valley, came from somewhere far away, far up the Pacific Northwest coast, possibly Alaska or the Aleutian Islands. He might even have come to North America all the way from Asia.
Adult stink bugs are easily recognized by shieldlike shape, five-segmented antennae and a most disagreeable odor. They come in shades of green, brown and black.
Hundreds turned out Sunday for the Mid-Columbia Pride 2014 celebration in Richland. Many walked in a parade through central Richland in support of equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people before heading to John Dam Plaza for music, food and other activities.
State Sen. Sharon Brown, R-Kennewick, announced Monday that she will not run for the seat being vacated by retiring Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Pasco. Brown said she has built up relationships in Olympia and wants to build on that. She declined to endorse another candidate.
Kennewick attorney George Cicotte announced Thursday that he is running as a Republican for Congress. He said he opposes Obamacare and can help Hanford, but declined to give specifics.
