You Call the Shot: Nov. 25, 2009

Poll:
What is this a photo of?

Last week's mystery photo turned out to be an agricultural conundrum.

The question was not what the image showed (saplings protected by milk cartons), but rather what the purpose of the milk cartons was. Just 17% correctly guessed they protect the young plants from herbicides, while 63% thought they were meant to shield them from the wind (that's what I would have guessed, too). Meanwhile, 17% also thought their primary purpose was to protect the plants from insects, and just 3% wondered if they kept away those pesky radioactive tumbleweeds.

This week's image, taken by Herald Photo Editor Bob Brawdy, should be an interesting one to guess.
