The Big East needs an additional football member for the 2012 season. Boise State must make sure it is the choice.
The NCAA has granted Cory Yriarte a sixth year of eligibility, Boise State announced Tuesday. Yriarte missed the 2009 and 2010 seasons after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee twice. Yriarte has played in 17 games in his Bronco career and is expected to be the team’s starting center in 2012. He is the second Boise State offensive player to earn a sixth year of eligibility for 2012, joining running back D.J. Harper.
Memphis is the latest school to sign up for a spot alongside Boise State in the new Big East.
Boise State's new football conference is reportedly growing again. CBSSports.com is reporting that Conference USA member Memphis will become an all-sports member in the Big East in 2013, the same year that Boise State is slated to join for football only.

Eagle High seniors D.J. Dean, left, and Tanner Mangum signed at Boise State and BYU, respectively. Dean, a wide receiver/safety, was Boise States lone Idaho player in the 2012 recruiting class. He likely will grayshirt. We think hes going to start at the receiver position, but one of the things we really liked about D.J. is he could play defense, coach Chris Petersen said. Hell be a really good special teams player.
