The NCAA has granted Cory Yriarte a sixth year of eligibility, Boise State announced Tuesday. Yriarte missed the 2009 and 2010 seasons after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee twice. Yriarte has played in 17 games in his Bronco career and is expected to be the team’s starting center in 2012. He is the second Boise State offensive player to earn a sixth year of eligibility for 2012, joining running back D.J. Harper.

Memphis is the latest school to sign up for a spot alongside Boise State in the new Big East.

Boise State's new football conference is reportedly growing again. CBSSports.com is reporting that Conference USA member Memphis will become an all-sports member in the Big East in 2013, the same year that Boise State is slated to join for football only.

Former Boise State linebacker Andy Avalos, right, has returned to his alma mater as defensive line coach. He celebrated his last day as a Broncos player by returning an interception 92 yards for a touchdown in the 2004 Liberty Bowl, a 44-40 loss to Louisville.

Quarterback Kellen Moore has enjoyed his week of practice leading up to today’s Senior Bowl. “We have a great quarterback crew here,” Moore said. “The six of us, we all kind of know each other. We've probably spent some time together in the past and watched each other develop. It's a lot of fun.”
