Harris inducted to New Brunswick Baseball Hall of Fame

From Herald news services

MONCTON, New Brunswick -- Kennewick's Billy Harris was inducted into the New Brunswick Baseball Hall of Fame at a ceremony Oct. 24 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Moncton.

Harris, a native of Duguayville, N.B., could not attend the induction ceremony because of health reasons. He is the long-time owner of Billy's Bull Pen Tavern in Kennewick.

Harris, 78, pitched two major league games following an outstanding minor pro and amateur career. He is also a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and the Central Washington Sports Hall of Fame.

Harris was inducted with two others, former player Tom O'Reilly and umpire Craig Hope, who is still calling balls and strikes after 40 years behind the plate.
