Richland, Southridge place 2 in All-State baseball series

YAKIMA -- Eight area players have been selected to play in this weekend's All-State baseball series at Parker Field in Yakima.

4A state champion Richland (infielder Brett Jacobs and catcher Josh Rapacz) and Columbia co-champion Southridge (outfielder Andrew Mendenhall and infielder Tyler Roberts) each had two players picked.

Also selected were infielders Nate Eppich of Connell, Trux French of Kennewick, Shawn O'Brien of Kamiakin and Othello's Marc Garza.

The first game of the series is at noon Saturday.

The championship game is 1:35 p.m. Sunday.
