College baseball: WSU again beats No. 25 OSU

CORVALLIS -- Jay Ponciano drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth as Washington State (28-22, 16-8 Pac-10) won 7-6 over Oregon State (31-16, 13-11) and take two of three off the No. 25 Beavers in Corvallis.

Jorge Reyes of Warden started and had three easy innings for OSU before giving up three runs in the fourth. He went five innings and struck out four, giving up three earned runs and six hits.

-- Kyle Conley (Richland) connected on his 19th home run, but Arizona (26-24, 9-14 Pac-10) scored six runs in the eighth inning to rally past Washington (25-26, 13-10) 10-7 in Tucson, Ariz.

Conley tied UW's career mark with an inside-the-park homer, giving the junior 42 to match Ed Erickson (1997-2000).

-- Gonzaga (32-16, 14-6 WCC) dropped its West Coast Conference finale 4-2 to Loyola Marymount (30-27, 13-8) in Spokane.

Drew Heid of Waterville had three hits to lead the Zags, who play host to the WCC Championship Series starting Friday.
