Remembering the past A to Z

Every so often, I get e-mails asking about former players. I always give the standard answer -- if they are still playing you can find them by typing in their name at hockeydb.com.

But, sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me and I have to look up a few guys. So, from the top:

Aaron Boogaard (RW) -- Tri-City Americans 2003-07; now with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of AHL, where he has 1 goal and 101 PIM in 26 games.

Brian Boucher (G) -- Tri-City Americans 1994-97; now in his second season with the San Jose Sharks. In 12 games is 9-1-1 with a 1.87 GAA, a .927 save percentage and 2 shutouts.

Sean Curry (D) -- Tri-City Americans 2000-01, traded to Medicine Hat the following season. Currently with Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) where he has 3 goals and 7 assists in 48 games.

Dylan Stanley (RW) -- Tri-City Americans 2000-05. Played three seasons at University of Alberta, and now is with the Rosenheim Star Bulls (Germany), where he leads the team in scoring with 35 goals and 52 assists in 44 games.

Erik Felde (LW) -- Tri-City Americans 2006-07, traded to Swift Current 3 games into next season. Is in his first season with Alaska Aces (ECHL) and had 5 goals and 2 assists in 25 games.

T.J. Fast (D) -- Tri-City Americans 2006-08. Played 9 games for Alaska Aces (ECHL) before being called up to the Peoria Rivermen (AHL). Has 1 goal, 3 assists and a plus-3 rating in 23 games.

Tim Green (F) -- Tri-City Americans 1998-00, traded to Lethbridge. In his fifth season with the Columbus Cottonmouths (SPHL). In 39 games, he has 21 goals and 23 assists.

Darrell Hay (D) -- Tri-City Americans 1996-00. Has floated between AHL and ECHL during his career. Now with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL). Has 3 goals and 13 assists in 26 games. His dad, Don Hay, coaches the Vancouver Giants.

Pat Iannone (LW) -- Tri-City Americans 2001-02, then traded to Medicine Hat. Has been playing in Italy since 2003. Is with his fourth team -- Bruneck SG, where he has 42 points.

Jesse Schultz (RW) -- Tri-City Americans 1999-01, traded to Prince Albert. Played for the Manitoba Moose (AHL) for three seasons, now plays for the Houston Aeros (AHL), with 11 goals and 23 assists in 49 games.

Ryan Kinasewich (LW) -- Tri-City Americans 2002-04. Has played in ECHL and AHL since leaving the Tri-Cities. Currently with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL), where he leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and 32 assists in 31 games.

Logan Stephenson (D) -- Tri-City Americans 2002-06. Played 2-plus seasons with San Antonio Rampage (AHL), was traded to the Iowa Chops on Dec. 3 when Phoenix traded him to Anaheim. In 13 games with the Chops, he has 2 assists and 8 PIMs.

Joel Martin (G) -- Tri-City Americans 2001-02, traded to Vancouver Giants. Has played in ECHL, UHL, CHL and AHL. Now with Kalamazoo Wings (IHL), where in 18 games he is 8-7-0 with a 2.82 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

"Nasty' Jon Mirasty (LW) -- Tri-City Americans 2000-01, traded to Moose Jaw. Penalty minutes have followed him through the ECHL, the UHL and now the AHL, where he is in his second season with the Syracuse Crunch (how appropriate). In 47 games, he has no points and 183 PIMs. Google him and you will find dozens of fight videos.

Olie Kolzig (G) -- Tri-City Americans 1988-90. Vezina Trophy winner played for Washington Capitals for his entire career until he was traded to Tampa Bay this season. Is co-owner of the Americans with Stu Barnes. Is currently on injured list after having arm surgery.

Carey Price (G) -- Tri-City Americans 2003-07. Left the Americans and went to Hamilton where he led the Bulldogs to the Calder Cup title. In his second year with Montreal, has a 2.53 GAA with a .913 save percentage in 31 games. Was the starting goalie in 2009 NHL All-Star Game.

Q -- I'll have to dig deep for this one.

Riley Emmerson (LW) -- Tri-City Americans 2004-06. The 6-foot-8 penalty magnet spent two seasons in the ECHL before getting a shot in the AHL with the Rochester Americans. In 21 games he has no points and 57 PIMs.

Clayton Stoner (D) -- Tri-City Americans 2002-05. In his fourth season with the Houston Aeros (AHL). Has 2 goals, 15 assists and a plus-8 rating in 35 games.

Trevor Johnson (D) -- Tri-City Americans 2002-03. Made the rounds in UHL and ECHL before landing in Italy. In his second season with Asiago HC, he has 7 goals and 27 points.

U -- I'm sure there is someone. Maybe next time.

Shaun Vey (C) -- Tri-City Americans 2004-08. Playing at the University of Saskatchewan, where he has 6 goals and 3 assists in 23 games.

Tyler Weiman (G) -- Tri-City Americans 2000-04. In his second year with the Lake Erie Monsters, he is 14-11-2 with a 2.33 GAA, a .922 save percentage and 6 shutouts.

X -- Like there are many words, let alone names, that start with X.

Colton Yellow Horn (LW) -- Tri-City Americans 2006-08. Played just 11 games in Austria before returning. He signed with the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) last week, but hasn't played a game yet.

Brad Zanon (D) -- Tri-City Americans 1999-02, traded to Kootenay Ice. Played four years for University of British Columbia. He is now with the Florida Everblades (ECHL) where in 38 games, he has 6 assists and 88 PIMs.
