HONOLULU -- Pasco's Leon Wright-Jackson scored the game's first touchdown on a 4-yard run and finished with 36 yards on six carries as host Hawaii defeated Weber State 36-17 late Saturday night.
Wright-Jackson, a junior listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, also caught one pass for eight yards.
It was the second game of the season for the Warriors (1-1). New head coach Greg McMackin featured a balanced offensive attack vs. Weber State with 34 rushing attempts and 34 passing attempts.
Last season, Hawaii had 459 passing attempts and 279 rushing attempts while winning the Western Athletic Conference title and posting a 12-1 record under coach June Jones, now at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Tyson Kafentzis, a senior linebacker from Richland, participated but did not record a tackle -- the same as in the season-opening 56-10 loss at Florida.
Hawaii will play Oregon State on Saturday at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
