COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho -- Andrew Mendenhall threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns, Cameron Sanders ran for two more and the Suns defense took a bite out of the host Vikings in a 33-17 nonleague victory Friday night.
Coeur d'Alene drove down for a field goal on its first drive but was shut out offensively the rest of the way, scoring on defense and special teams. The Vikings were limited to just 19 yards on the ground and 120 overall.
"After that (field goal), we pretty much held 'em," said Southridge coach Andy Troxel.
Sanders' second touchdown run from 14 yards out gave the Suns a 20-17 halftime lead.
Mendenhall finished 16-of-24 for 201 yards. Clayton Homme caught five passes for 77 yards and two second-half TDs, and Devin Jones had six catches for 87 yards and a score.
