The Fallout Zone concert at First Night! Win a Nintendo Wii!

If you're wondering what to do for New Year's Eve, head on out to Pasco for First Night! Yours truly will be there putting on the coolest local concert of 2008.

The Fallout Zone is back for a second year inside the HUB at Columbia Basin Community College. Starting at 7:15 p.m., you can treat your ears and eyes to the likes of these four sets:

Enjoy a little acoustic jazz with Jessie Beverly, a former California native who brought over classic coolness that you find in most coffee shops and art galleries.

Next, the guys from Brazen Layver will be giving one hell of a performance with their contemporary rock sound. These guys are good and I mean it.

If you loved nerdcore artist Beefy, then you should get your ass down here. The lovably squishable hip-hop artist is back with a whole new set and a lot more hilarious rhymes.

Closing out the night is Mister Orange. You loved them two years ago. You missed them when they were on break one year ago. Now you can welcome them and the New Year as they tear it up. Their one of a kind rock-fusion style is one way to get amped up before the big fireworks show.

Oh, did I mention there will be a change to win a brand spanking new Nintendo Wii?!?!

That's right. Come find me inside the HUB at First Night before 9 p.m. to sign up for the Guitar Hero contest. A Wii will be set up inside the Senate Room. If your name is called, you and your friends have a chance to rock out on Guitar Hero World Tour. Show us what you've got on the guitar, drums and mic. The highest scorer will then take home the coveted Wii, so obviously you want to have your friends help you out in order to accumulate the most points.

That's it. No catches. No hidden clauses. Just sign up before 9 p.m., play your heart out and you could be taking home the Nintendo Wii!

If that's not enough reason to show up, I don't know what is. Come hang out, have a blast and enjoy local music!
