The Bachelorette Aftermath

When people go to Vegas, there's this weird instinct to document everything, even though they'd never actually show the footage to anyone, except maybe their future children in an effort to prove that they were once cool.

Crazy stuff happens in Vegas, or so said my driver from the airport. For my bachelorette, the girls pitched in to rent a Town Car to take us to the Palazzo hotel. I love the Palazzo for many reasons, but mainly because we had concierge service, which meant free cocktails from 5 - 9 p.m.

It's high wedding season and plenty of bachelorette parties were taking place in Vegas. Everywhere we went, we'd see another group of girls surrounding their bride-to-be, who was wearing a tiara or sash.

My crew, dubbed the Rockstar Crew, had matching hot pink tank tops and black/red garters, which we wore on our biceps or thighs. I saw some pretty phallic crowns being worn that even lit up.

If you're a woman getting married who happens to travel through Vegas, you will get a lot of people giving you their condolences. To them, you're on love lockdown and it's game over. Believe me, if I had a dollar every time someone said that to me, I would have plenty of gambling money.

One of the highlights from my trip was meeting Holly Madison from The Girls Next Door. Ms. Madison is currently doing a peep show in Vegas and never in a million years did I think that we'd run into her at the Planet Hollywood mall. Her trademark tube socks gave her away and she was truly a sweetheart when I ran up to her and asked for a picture.

The closest we came to another celebrity sighting was this waiter who looked like Neil Patrick Harris. The actor known to most as either Doogie Howser or from the Harold & Kumar movies, would probably be proud of this lookalike, who's name is Bronson.

On top of it all, the best part of the trip was the club XS inside the Encore hotel. Currently one of the hottest clubs in the Nevada, there's no guest list or VIP during the weekend, meaning that if you want in, you have to line up early. This also meant that if you were a girl in 4-inch heels or higher, your life would royally suck for the next couple of hours because you weren't allowed to sit down or take your shoes off due to health codes. There was a security guard whom we deemed the Shoe Nazi who repeatedly yelled at us.

When we arrived at Encore at 9:30 p.m., the line started at one end of the building and went all the way to the other end. As we made our way to the end of the line, a group of Asian guys yelled out "You're getting married?! We're losing another one!" We finally got in at 11 and were stoked when we saw there was an outside pool area where you could take off your shoes and get down in the water.

A highlight within the highlight was when two girls jumped in the pool, made out, then stripped. There were plenty of cameras flashing, making it a good show, but security was waiting for them right when they got out. I expect to see "missing" posters of the two girls this coming week...

I can't remember how much alcohol was consumed, but tequila definitely made up the majority of it. I'm not a fan of Patron, even if it's top shelf, yet we kept ordering more and more shots with lime wedges. We'd cheer, lick, drink, then bite into the limes and make a disgusted facial expression in unison. And then we'd do it all again.

It's always fun to see the same passengers with whom you flew down with and how they've turned into walking zombies. One bachelor party, who were quite vivacious at the beginning of Thursday, were completely mute and hungover on Sunday. But it's not like my Rockstar Crew was any different...

Ironically, I didn't get to see the Bellagio fountains or the M&M factory. I guess it'll just have to wait until next time!
