Kennewick's Toyota Center could be a state volleyball tournament site again — and the format of the tournaments could change, too.

KENNEWICK -- The Kennewick volleyball team lived up to one of the biggest sports cliches in 2011.

LACEY -- The Kennewick Lions' hopes of a trophy finish at the 3A state volleyball tournament are still alive.

KENNEWICK — Seven years ago, Julie Maciboba and Lizzie Law were excited to lead Kennewick's volleyball team to a .500 record and the district tournament.

For a second consecutive season, the Kennewick volleyball team is going to the Class 3A state tournament.

RICHLAND -- The Richland volleyball team came up short in its quest to get back to the Class 4A state tournament, falling in five sets to Central Valley at home Tuesday.

KENNEWICK -- The Kennewick volleyball team hopes history repeats itself this week.

YAKIMA — West Valley earned the CBBN 3A crown Saturday with a three-set win over Kennewick in the district tournament championship match at West Valley High School in Yakima.

RICHLAND -- Walla Walla earned its first district championship since 2002, beating Wenatchee 10-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21 in the CBBN 4A title match Saturday at Art Dawald Gymnasium in Richland.

WALLA WALLA -- Torri Crawford had 16 kills and Brogan Watson recorded 18 assists as host Walla Walla survived a third-set loss to spike Eisenhower 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 26-24 in a CBBN 4A loser-out contest Thursday night.

ROYAL CITY -- River View rallied from a two-set hole to win 17-25, 22-25, 25-12, 25-12, 15-13 in an SCAC East road match and wrap up the fourth seed for the SCAC district tournament next week.

BENTON CITY -- Paxton Carlisle had 10 kills, 23 assists and two aces, while teammate Kennidi Whitby added eight kills and two aces as Connell (11-0) defeated host Kiona-Benton 3-1 in an SCAC East volleyball match.

PROSSER -- Klaire Childers had 13 digs and three kills, but Prosser still dropped a CWAC home match 3-0.

RICHLAND -- Suzi Davis dished off 11 assists to her Hanford teammates, but it was to no avail Tuesday night, as the Falcons lost 3-0 in a CBBN 3A home volleyball contest against West Valley.

ROYAL CITY -- Madison Yamane had nine aces and Selena Styren added 21 assists as Moses Lake Christian Academy swept host Royal in a nonleague volleyball match Saturday.

SPOKANE -- Shelby Warner had 34 kills on the day and Kylie Fraga had 106 assists as Southridge placed sixth out of 64 teams Saturday in the Spokane Crossover.

RICHLAND -- Richland setter Lauren Joseph kept all her frontline players happy, spreading her 38 assists around as the Bombers topped visiting Walla Walla 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18 in a CBBN 4A contest Thursday.

PASCO -- As Sadie Sparks emphatically hammered home the final point Tuesday, she also sent a clear message that Chiawana is the team to beat this season.

WENATCHEE -- Torri Crawford had 18 kills on the day as Walla Walla (2-4) fell twice against host Wenatchee in a CBBN 4A doubleheader.
