Kamiakin, Richland stay tied atop CBBN

Jori Skorpik scored twice as Kamiakin beat West Valley 3-2 in a CBBN girls soccer match Saturday at Lampson Stadium.

The win kept the Braves tied atop the CBBN standings with Richland with only Tuesday's finales remaining.

Kamiakin also clinched a spot in next Saturday's district championship against the Bombers, with only the site to be determined. Richland owns the tiebreaker by virtue of an earlier win over Kamiakin.

Richland 6, Eastmont 0

Hannah Melberg and Bria Caldwell scored two goals apiece as Richland rolled to a CBBN victory at Bomber Field.

Pasco 4, Hanford 0

Kaylie Winston and Shawna Anderson scored two goals apiece as Pasco won at Hanford and clinched a first-round CBBN district home game.

The Bulldogs can finish as the No. 4 seed by upsetting Kamiakin in Tuesday's finale and if Southridge loses to West Valley.

Southridge 5, Davis 1

YAKIMA -- Heather Johnson scored four goals to raise her league-leading total to 24 and Southridge remained in a three-way tie for third in the CBBN standings. The Suns can finish as the No. 3 district seed by beating West Valley on Tuesday.

Chiawana 11, Kennewick 0

Tyeler Kendrick and Lexi Miller both earned hat tricks as Chiawana rolled past Kennewick for a CBBN home win.

Kiona-Benton 1, Wahluke 0

BENTON CITY -- Bailey Schroeder scored with seven minutes remaining and Kiona-Benton advanced out of the first round of the SCAC district playoffs for the first time ever. The Bears play at top-seeded Connell, a 5-0 winner over Goldendale, in Tuesday's semifinals, with the winner qualifying for the 1A state tournament.
