Boys soccer: Sunnyside beats Kamiakin in regional semifinal

SUNNYSIDE -- Jesus Solis scored off a loose ball in front of the Kamiakin net in the third minute, a goal which held up for the next 77 minutes to give Sunnyside a 1-0 3A Eastern Regional semifinal home win over the Braves on Wednesday.

Scoring--1, SS, Jesus Solis (Jesus Godino), 3:00. Shots--K 7, SS 12. Saves--K, Abel Bautista, Dillon Braich, 9 combined. SS, Joaquin Perez 6.

The Grizzlies, who clinched a state berth with the win, play host to Eastmont -- a 1-0 winner over Hanford -- on Saturday for the regional title.

Eastmont 1, Hanford 0

Scoring--1, E, Marco Solorio (Omar Garcia), 26:36. Shots--H 6, E 16. Saves--H, Sunny Bajwa 9. E, Jose Gladin 4.

The Braves play host to Hanford the same day to determine the region's third and final state qualifier.
